I have a deck that is now coming up as a vintage deck. Someone said that it is because I have Preordain in it. What should I replace it with in the 2014 core set?

There really are no standard draw spells that are too useful right now in terms of being cheap and netting cards.

There's Divination, Azorius charm, Izzet charm, glimpse the future, quicken...

Or for a cheap scry ability, there's Omenspeaker, voyage's end...

Not too much to work with. I would love it if they reprinted preordain or ponder for standard. Since they're banned individually from modern, and since Delver has rotated, I'm sure that a reprint wouldn't be too harmful. Pretty sure it's not going to happen though, so we're just going to have to wait for a quality cantrip.

I pointed out that your Preordain isn't Modern legal which is why your deck was showing up as Vintage, but there are more banned cards in your deck. Ponder and Mental Misstep are also banned. Your deck is not Standard OR Modern legal. If you fix those issues it would be a Modern format deck.

Standard format only includes cards from the Magic 2014 core set, Return to Ravnica block and Theros block.

Is Friday Night Magic standard or modern?

It is usually Standard but sometimes a shop may have a Modern event (rare) or a booster draft.
