Hello, I'm fairly new to Magic and I've had very little experience with deck building or playing against real people (I've only ever played against my roommate) but I've got a super basic deck built and I wondered if I could get any pointers about how to make it better. To be clear, I'm not ready to sink tons of cash into it right now although in the future that may be a possibility, I'm just looking for a direction to head so I don't get stagnant. Thanks a lot.

If anyone is interested, I started with the 2014 core set: fire surge deck and built from there. I'm a big fan of the Izzet cards and would like to incorporate several more if possible.
