So Animar was my first EDH deck, and for years it was my best deck. As my meta and playgroup improved, so did this deck, but it also deliberately kept it from being super well tuned and efficient, so I turned to the all permanent primal surge variant. Now however people have learned to remove animar any way they can once it gets some counters on him and primal surge has lost its charm. How should I improve it without going full imperial animar, mana dorks for days into ancestral statue kind of thing?
