Notes

Changelog:

4/23/14
-Nightscape Familiar
-Lavaclaw Reaches
+Notion Thief
+Reliquary Tower

The familiar never made that big of an impact, and in many cases, made no impact at all. He admittedly lowers Jeleva's cost, but I think Notion Thief will be a much stronger card overall. Tower made it in partially because of Notion Thief, and Lavaclaw Reaches was the least useful land I was running.

5/2/14
+Silence the Believers
-Damnation

Silence can be a powerful card cast of Jeleva, and isn't bad without her either. I wanted to move Damnation over to Kaalia, because running W/B, running Wrath of God and NOT running Damnation just... it makes my OCD alarm go off.
*After checking the rulings Silence the Believers isn't as strong as I thought, but I'm gonna keep the change in place for now.

10/3/14
-Eyes of the Watcher
-Mirari
-Long-Term Plans
-Spellweaver Volute
+Sakashima's Student
+Howl of the Horde
+Thassa, God of the Sea
+Chandra Pyromaster

Thassa plays pretty similarly to Eyes, and while the scry *might* not happen as often, it happens more reliably. She also doesn't take mana to scry, is harder to deal with, and provides more protection for my general/can open a path for a big scary beater with her unblockable ability.
As for Mirari, once again, didn't want to pay the mana to activate it, plus I have other ways of twincasting my spells that are either free, or aren't tap abilities. And Chandra seems like a value engine and win-con all in one. We'll see how she does.
Long-Term Plans is something I never get when it would be optimal (right before a Jeleva casting), and Howl is something that looks fun, and is a great cast off of a Jeleva attack for a devastating second main sorcery.
I rarely had a good target for Spellweaver Volute, let alone a second one when I cast a sorcery, so out goes a dead card and in goes a ninja. I'm really pushing it as far as how many creatures I want in the deck, but ninjas are a great way to "reset" Jeleva, and a Clone ninja is just icing on the cake, since he can be anything from my own acheomancer to my opponent's Terrastodon (Ha! Grixis CAN kill enchantments!).

11/19/14
-Silence the Believers
+Worst Fears

Not actually sure when this one happened, but Silence never worked out for me, and Worst Fears looked like a fun card to be slinging at my opponents. It's just too bad it can't be imprinted on Spellbinder - that would be hilarious.

12/5/15
-Lim-Dûl's Vault
+Don't remember

1/7/16
-Necromantic Selection
-Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni
+Blatant Thievery
+Mizzix of the Izmagnus

11/18/16

MAJOR UPDATE:

-Augur of Bolas
-Mizzix of the Izmagnus
-Lim-Dûl's Vault
-Mystical Teachings
-Fabricate
-Stolen Identity
-Decree of Pain
-Coalition Relic
-Vessel of Endless Rest
-Island
-Sunken Ruins
-Swamp
-Swiftwater Cliffs

A lot of these cards were hard to cut, but I want to try taking the deck in a new direction, focusing more on wheel effects and recursion. Augur was a good card in theory, but he never showed up when it would have been best and often didn't leave me with anything that impressive. Mizzix comes out because I might give her a deck of her own. Lim Dul's Vault is more time consuming than anything. Mystical Teachings has a suprisingly low number of targets, since I don't run counter spells. Fabricate was a hard cut, but really only ever got boots or a mana rock. Stolen Identity was another hard cut, but cipher doesn't usually do much, and it exiles the spell, anyway, so it can't be recurred. Decree of Pain is a bit of a gamble, and I'd rather get a cheaper, easier board-wipe. Mana stuff was just simple upgrades.

+Shivan Reef
+Shadowblood Ridge
+Bloodstained Mire
+Oboro, Palace in the Clouds
+Crystal Ball
+Chromatic Lantern
+Past in Flames
+Grave Upheaval
+Windfall
+Memory Plunder
+Vial Smasher theFierce
+Thing in the Ice
+Laboratory Maniac

Crystal Ball is a very underplayed card, in my opinion, especially with a commander like Jeleva or Narset. Past in Flames provides some powerful spell recursion. Grave Upheaval provides color fixing early and a powerful creature late game - especially after a wheel or wrath. Windfall is something that I've wanted to add for some time, and the deck is adding more wheels in general. Memory Plunder loves these additional wheels, and has also long been in the wish board. Vial Smasher looks like a fun time, adding insult to injury with some of these big spells. Thing in the Ice is both a soft reset for the board, a big beater, and can reset Jeleva when she runs out of spells, at least in theory. Lab Man is an alternate wincon with the wheels and Notion Thief.

15/7/17
- Liliana Vess
- Izzet Chrononarch
+ Waste Not
+ Bloodwater Entity
Also swapped some lands, Mirrorpool is the relevant addition.

The deck is leaning more towards wheels and the like. Both cards lower the curve. Mirrorpool provides more ways to copy spells.

9/22/19

Doing a lot of updating before the big move. Didn't really keep track of changes over the last year or so. Suffice to say, wheels didn't hold my interest for long, so I'm back to copying big spells.
